We rented a van and because the climb was closed due to the Etape being on, we drove through Allemond, dumped the van somewhere up there and cycled to Huez. We used ada which were very cheap considering we hadn't prebooked it.

there is a bus service that runs from Lyon Airport to Briancon and Bourg d'Oisians. Its approx €70 return and will cater for bikes.

Just do a simple google for bus services to the above mentioned places
