Funny creaking noise whilst peddling.

    Evening all.

While completing my first 100k today (yeah me!) I noticed a creaking noise coming from the right pedal when pushing down. Originally thought it was on the up turn of the left, but a bit of investigation and its definitely the right.
Back in the day on my really old bikes, there was something called a cotter pin (I think) at the top of the pedal. When that started to wear, it made a very similar noise to this.

    Any ideas?

I'm hoping its nothing too serious. It's Shimano 105 gear and if there's 1500km on it it's an awful lot.

    TIA.

Try lubricating the threads on your pedals.

I had the identical issue when pushing on my right pedal. Turned out to be the bb30 bearing that did not have enough grease when first installed. BB30 bearings were replaced and creak went away.

if you have outer bearings more that likely thats your problem, your bottom bracket shell needs to be faced so as the bearings sit dead flush against the (BBS) i doubt very much its the pedal .although it could be i'm not always right:D
