Is there a way i can get the date of the last time a vehicle changed ownership with the dept of transport?

Looking at a car and owner says he has it 18 months. Also no nct for 18 months and says it only needs cat for nct

Im sure i seen it for sale earlier this year, so i just want to verify if the info he has given is genuine regarding his ownership term. Its under 1k, but still don't want to get burned.

I have the reg, make and model at my disposal only.

It'll be on the Reg cert, you can only find out free online if it was in the last 3 months.

A paid report would obviously tell you more

It would wanna be some car if you're going to buy it on someones word about 'sure it will pass the nct' lark.
Perhaps if you feel suspicious about it then you should shop around a bit? What car is it?
Reg cert has issue date on it if I remember correctly.

Got cartell check. Checks out as he said he owns it 18 months. Always a risk i suppose, but feel a bit better with the check.

Get him to stick it into the NCT then to see if it only needs a cat. Otherwise I'd be walking away. If it hasn't been NCT'd for 18 months, or 30/42 depending on age, a lot more stuff can go wrong

Where's the car based Goz, if it's South Dublin I'll go look at it for you?

Tallaght. I gave it a good look over. It's an ex fto club car. Was thinking of buying, swapping out some mods with another fto to bring it back to original and getting it NCT'd. Would fail emissions because there is a decat pipe on it, but that's an easy solve. There was no water in her and some corrosion on the rear. The side skirts were missing (most people wouldn't even notice this). Could see she had some damage from a tip to the bumper and had been repaired. Alloys in serious need of a refurb. Tyres showed signs of some enthusiastic driving. Overall.....it was worth the asking price (€750), but I wasn't feeling it, so I left it without making an offer.

My friend thought I was mad not to make an offer, but I just saw hard time spent fixing it up. I said I would have only offered €400, but didn't want to insult the guy. My friend rang and offered the €400 and was declined, as expected. An hour later, my friend rang me back saying the seller rang him and was all excited that he had won a few quid at the bookies and said if we wanted the car, he will take €500, but no less.

Now how many people here are going to look up the car online?

Good price for a non mivec if it's as straight as you say.
A crying shame they're so expensive to insure.

I've a feeling they're only going to go up in price.

Is that your brothers fto up for sale as well?

My brothers fto is the red one on adverts. Looks like an offer was accepted on it. I reckon the price will go up too on them. They have been seriously low here for a good two years.

The seller has now dropped the asking price to €500. I was going to take it, but a few hours ago, I picked myself up a stunning GPX instead. I would love to keep it, but the plan is to fix the little things and find her a good home. She already has some nct and only needs a few bits sorted.
