Quick question for anyone that can help....

I am moving away and have a sky+ box.
If I give this box to my folks can they swap it with their old school sky box and use the functions of sky+?

Apologies in advance if this question has been asked a million times before....

    Work away.
They may need to ring sky and pair it if they want to use it for box office or other premium channels, but otherwise it should work straight away.

They will need to ring Sky to get them to pair the card with the box to enable the sky+ functions to work.

No to my knowledge this is still only available in the UK at present.

just an update on this & my question earlier

you can pair the card yourself online from ireland, instead of ringing them up

    from the sky help forum
    # Make sure telephone line is connected.
    # Go into the installer menu (Services-0-0-1-Select) Go to new install and follow through pressing select. You will see signal screen after first press of select, press select again, then it says "Callback in progress". Wait until it says success.
    # Go to www.sky.com/wrongcard and login.
    # Select the viewing card number thats in the box and enter the version number and serial number from the boxes System Details screen.
    # Click Activate. In my case is was only a few seconds later and it was all working.

worked straight away for me but it's says it can take upto 2 hours.
