So I was looking on amazon and came across CD players for the car.

Do they work in European cats? Prob a silly question but maybe set up to receive US stations ? I know nothing about it so haven't a clue

Was gonna get something like this for my 04 Renault Megane

I have an American Head unit in my car, i have it for years now, i bought it as it was top of the range and half the price. It will work fine the only difference is the frequency increments are in odd numbers i.e 92.3 92.5 92.7 etc so you won't pick up a station on 96.6 or 107.6 or 92.0

You won't pick up US stations, and the irish stations can be a bit hit or miss. Say for example you want to listen to 95.00 fm, your radio might only have 94.9 or 95.1.

    Grand for cd's / mp3 though.

yes, I had once a top of the range PIONEER head unit bought on ebay from states (half price). Everything was top notch except couldn't hear some radio stations here (but some could). Was young then so wasn't listening radio too much anyway so had no issue.

Altough, some of the manufacturers nowdays allow to switch band rate in the settings. But it would depend on the model I guess.
