Bay Hill BH550 Opinions / Other Options?

Hey everyone, New here!

I recently started playing golf 2 weeks ago and I would like to keep it up.

I need to buy my own set of clubs now so I'm looking for opinions.

I have been using a set of clubs I borrowed just to get the swing (:D) of things, they are a set of Bay Hill BH550 (Driver, 3 & 5 Woods, 21° & 18°, 5 Iron - SW & putter) Graphite shafts. I am really getting used to these clubs and quiet like them, although they are the only set I have really played with so I cannot compare.

The person I have borrowed them off has offered to sell me them for €450, they are basically brand new as he never used them.

Im just looking for opinions on the quality of the clubs and the price!

I wasn't planning on spending this much on my first set as I am only starting out, I had around €200 - 250 in mind for a some what decent starter set so can anyone recommend me some in that price range, new or second hand?

I purchased the Nike VR Pro Cavity Irons in McGuirks about 4 months, got them in the sale for €250 - and am very happy with them. Im just getting back into golf after playing when i was younger and find these really forgiving and nice sound/feel when you strike the ball well.

Would definitely recommend them.

My friend also bought the Nike Machspeed clubs from the following website, and he is really happy with them also, think he got them for €230 inc delivery, another nice set.

450 sounds a bit expensive to me. You could get a brand new set of wilsons including bag for less than that. Bag and woods included.

450 sounds like your mate is trying to take you for a bit of ride to me for a starter set of golf clubs, I'd be amazed if they cost that to buy new, but maybe I'm wrong?

Definitely a lot more value out there if you take a look around I'd say

Full starter set inc quality bag from good reliable company for just over €200

I think you'd be mad to pay €450 for those bay hill clubs second hand.

Thanks for all the replies guys! To be honest I was very surprised when he told me the price, I had expected to pay about €200 for them given the limited info I could find on them online!

I was looking at these Wilson Stretch XL, anyone have any experience with them?

Another option I was thinking of is going second hand, there is an Iron set (4-SW) of Callaway Big Bertha in my area for around the €150 mark, could pick those up and get a 3 wood, putter etc elsewhere then, not sure what would be the best route to take?

No idea what those wilsons are like to be honest but just be careful as they are an exta inch longer than normal so if you are not the tallest you may struggle with them.

If you decide to go doen the second hand route I've a couple of new putters lying around and you can have one of those.
