Looking to get carpet for the stairs and just wondering what to look out for when buying it. Originally had carpet when I bought the house but got worn so took it up and then varnished the stairs but now these are fading and want to get carpet. Rest of the house has wooden floors and looking for something that will last. Only been to Des Kelly so far and plenty of reams of carpet but not sure what will last / not last?

Any tips on what to look out for?

I recently got carpet for the stairs and landing.

I dont think the carpert i was sold was right for stairs.
Its not heavy enough for the grippers as they poke through.
    Had to hammer them down.

Its down about 6 weeks and the stairs are looking worn already so make sure you dont get supplied with not suitable carpet for stairs.

After looking at a few places i ended up using M.kelly :(

Carpetright would be what i'd recommend.
The only carpet i liked (was looking for a very particular colour) looked like a very hard waring carpet but the salesman told me it wasn't suitable knowing that he would lose a sale.
