Apply for VTOS instead of BTEA? Waiting times?

    Hi guys,

    I'm totally confused about vtos/btea.

    In march I was given a place on a course in one college, so i paid the fees (only €90 after reductions) and went to the local swo and allpied for btea.

    I also applied for a second course in a different college. This is the course I want to do, but the first course was a backup for me incase I didn't get it.

    So I've been accepted for the second course and I'm gonna take that. Paid the fees today of €300 and the swo told me I need to send it in writing to them that I've changed my course choice and proof of being on the course (which is what i needed to pay the fees for).

    I still haven't head anything back about the btea which I applied for 3 months ago but the swo is telling me it shouldn't take this long.

    Now the course I'm taking is definitely a vtos approved course.
    So my questiong are really:

    1. Since I've already applied for btea can I still apply for vtos? If I can will I have to cancel the btea application first?

    2. How long generally does it take for a result on a btea application?

    3. How long for vtos?

    4. Is it a bit late to apply for vtos because of the limited places/ what are the chances of actually getting a place?

    5. If I get vtos, would a get my fees refunded?

    6. How do I actually go about applying for vtos?


    Any help is much appreciated! I've been looking for as much info as I can but not having much luck because I've got myself into a complicated situation I guess :P
