Hi I'm just wondering can someone answer this question . My job entails working a week on and a week off. But in a way it's the week on that is split into two weeks pay ,. If u get me! So I have a wage every week . The one week is split into Monday to Thursday then Friday to Sunday . Then I usually have the whole of the next week off or a day or two extra of a shift on the week off . I'm only working 6 hours shifts . So I'm wondering am I entitled to Any social welfare additional payment ?

No need to be smart if you want info:rolleyes:. You edited the post after I read it. If you work more than 3 days in each week, you will get nothing from Welfare. The crazy aspect of this is that if you work 24 hours in 3 days, you may get something from Welfare. But if you work 12 hours over 4 days you don't even qualify !!! Go figure. You best bet is to ask at your local welfare office.

I think you might be - its not clear - also some good info re PRSI

    Job-sharing and week on/off
If you have been working full-time and then enter a job-sharing arrangement, you are not eligible for Jobseeker's Benefit because you have voluntarily opted to work fewer hours or days.

If you are working week on or off, your entitlement to Jobseeker's Benefit will depend on whether you are available for work on the week off.

In these types of situations, you need to be careful to ensure that you have a full PRSI record. Depending on your precise working arrangements, you could end up with only 26 paid contributions. Find out more about PRSI and job-sharing. However, if you are getting Jobseeker's Benefit, you will get a PRSI credit for the week you are not working.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
