been shopping around seriously the last few days, i got my no claims in the post and i'm up for renewal in July. really struggling...

im not asking how long is a piece fo sting or how much is it going to be, just who has insured an import with a company not on the list that i can try.

(driving 6 years, full license, 6 years no claims in my own name, paid €550 to liberty last year so a little disappointed with their new quote)

    123.ie - 705 third party, 900 fully comp
    aviva - no import
liverty - online 690 third party, 740 fully comp
    fbd - no imports
    no nonsense - no imports
    allianz - no quote
    one direct - no quote
    aviva - no quote
    top quote - no quote
    tesco - no quote

Currently with Setanta. Most likely will be changing to Liberty in a few weeks unless Setanta can match their quote (Liberty €680, Setanta €820; both fully comp). 30 yo male, full license 10+ years, 5 years NCB, Integra Type R DC2.

I haven't an import but you don't have 25 Plus or AON Insure on your list.

    simplyinsure.ie - €2272 LOL!!

i'l check out setanta and AON, i reckon 25 plus wont want to hear from a 23 year old :P

My last 5 cars have all been UK imports (1xAudi & 4xBMW) insured with RSA through Cornmarket Brokers. What are you trying to insure?

Im guessing, going by the OPs username, that its a Jap import rather than a UK import. Very different kettle of fish when it comes to insurance.

Just tried the Britton online quote; "Britton Insurance are pleased to offer you a quote of €2300 with a €3000 excess" :pac:

    Muppets.

Liberty beat everyone else by €700 for me

I had all but one of my skylines insured through First Ireland brokers. Even ringing around myself I was never able to get quotes cheaper then they did.

jdm b4 legacy was insured thru AA broker.

trying to make sure they understood it was an import was an ordeal but it didn't matter in the end.

Im actually a bit surprised with how many quotes I have gotten this time around (maybe turning 30 helped). Last couple of years most companies flat out refused to talk to me. This year I have gotten quotes from Liberty, Axa (who all but laughed at me in the past once they found out the car I was trying to insure), AA, Britton, and Nononense and several brokers who werent interested this time last year. Granted most of the prices are stupid money (Im looking at you Pat Britton you gob****e...), but some are reasonable to very good (Liberty), and at least I have choices!
