    Hi all,

I want to look at re hanging a number of doors in the house.
Reason being that there is quite a gap between door and frame, in a couple of them you can actually see the light coming through at night (bedroom door landing light)
That and the fact that a couple of them don't shut fully and a simple push will open them.

What's the best way to go about it? and adding spacers to bridge the gap.

NB I have hung doors before so not a complete newbie.

    thanks
    R

    Hi Rory
Are the door frames on stud partitions or block ?. Are they rebated or square edge with a slip.
I would presume being upstairs they are on a stud partition. I would take off architraves, take frames out and narrow frame . This would leave any packing out can be done on the back of frame and architraves will cover the packing up again.
Depends how frames are fixed - if screwed your fine.
If nailed punch nails into studs if door frame is square edge, the door stops will hide nail holes.
    NW.

    Hi NW,

That sounds like a plan, all doors on stud partitions, checked last night and they're screwed on.
Just need the time to get it done now.
    Appreciate the pointers

    Thanks
