    Hello there
I'll be saying in milltown malbay in two weekends time, hoping to bring my bike and get in a few cycles.

What would ye recommend. Just an average cycler so nothing too challenging please?

    thanks

Anywhere! along the coast etc where you are is beautiful
It's a short bit away from you but drive through Ennis and park where the R352 meets teh R462. Then cycle from there to Tulla, down to Killaloe. lovely roads, overhanging trees on the road. You could go around Lough Derg but that could be a long cycle.

IMO both are equally scenic, south to loop head is flat, north towards the burren is lumpy. It gets very windy down there so head out against the wind if it suits.

Milltown, Lahinch, Ennistymon, Inagh, Milltown gives you a nice 44km loop with a bit of a hill in the middle and nice varied scenery. One of my regular training routes.

Great cycling routes in Clare. I would suggest the following routes

    Stick to the coast
Miltown - Lahinch - Cliffs of Moher - Doolin - Ballyvaughan - Corkscrew hill - Lisdoonvarna - Kilfenora - Ennistymon - Lahinch - Miltown. Lots of coastal views with a bit of the Burren thrown in.

Or you could head for Ennis via the Hand -
Miltown - Connelly - Kilmaley - Inch - Ennis - Inagh - take left turn in Inagh between the two pubs and head straight back to Miltown or go straight through Inagh and head for Lahinch and go back to Miltown that way.

Or you could drive to Ennis, park your car and all parts of the county are within easy reach.

I second that. I often cycle from Ennis through Inch, Kilmaley, Connolly, the Han, towards Miltown, turn off for Inagh the back to Ennis. It's a nice route, nice scenery. If your feeling adventurous and are cycling a hybrid, you could turn off at the Hand and take forest roads up around Mount Callan (they're on the Google Maps).
Another hybrid option is to cycle the Mid Clare Way. This is a walking route, few boreens to be tackled. Off the beaten track and worth a look

Head down from Miltown to Quilty, Doonbeg and Kilkee then take the Dunlicky coast road at the west end of the town for a truly stunning cycle. You could then continue west to Loop Head or south to Carrigaholt before turning back to Kilkee.

Be prepared for blustery conditions, even in the height of summer.
Miltown to Lahinch to Liscannor to Doolin pretty much hugs the coast line the entire way, great views of the Aran islands when going between Liscannor-Doolin.
Anywhere up around Ballyvaughan. The view from the Corkscrew towards Galway is top quality, if you cycle up the corkscrew it'll fairly test the legs.
