Premolar root canal treatment

I was at the Dentist this morning and was told that I need root canal treatment on an upper premolar. I was quoted €250 for this and my medical card would cover two fillings on the same tooth (I think) I am just wondering is this a fair price. How much would the same treatment cost in the dental hospital or other dentists?…
