Hi - these little buggers are attacking my silver birch trees - does anyone know what they are and how to get rid of them other than the manual picking them off and disposing of them elsewhere?

they're sawfly larvae; i'd dealt with it before by picking them off manually. they don't like free flowing air; are the affected leaves well sheltered?

No they are out in the open and get blown about well in the wind. Going to see if I can get some pesticide...can't be picking them off all the time...
