Well this is my bangernomics buy :D Ford focus picked her up for 200 quid which was good I thought. Been driving it the last 6 months and not a bother on it.. When I was cleaning her out I found a tenner :P:P

Apparently the lad that owned it emigrated but before that there was a heap of work done to it like

brand new tyres, He bought the alloys for it, new engine (now 1.6 but previously a 1.4) and I have a receipt in the glovebox for a brand new rear axle fitted by ford themselves :eek: Mint little focus for a 00 and mileage is ok too..

    I love hearing these stories!

Probably up there as one of the best bangernomics bargains. 200 quid is an absolute steal for everything you got! Well wear. Hope you get plenty more enjoyable mileage out of her :)

I've a 98 mondeo with 194k on it and numerous dents. I'm offered around €200 for it all the time by scrap guys and people I know that know how well the engine has been maintained, considering you bought that car for 200 I think I might sell the mondeo in the morning.

Thanks lads. Don't think ill ever find a cheap car like this that's had some much work done to it. Then again you never know, This recession is great if you have the money to buy.

Nice looking motor. How did you manage to get it for €200? Did you bargain him down or was he just looking for a fast sale through done deal or something.

If only I had the same luck with my focus :pac: that's fair going 6 months of trouble free mothering for 200 quid. You really couldn't go wrong at that money. Best of luck with it seems like a nice honest car.

Kinda friend of a friend, Last year I sold my civic for pittance because the nct ran out and the car was in really bad condition. I had 250 in my pocket and I thought i'd never get anything. Then I found out that the focus had been lying up in a back garden for about 2 years so I just got your mans phone number and told him i'd take it for 200.

When I got to the car I couldn't believe it, I spotted the new tyres and noticed how clean the engine looked.

From what I understand a guy in Carlow bought it brand new in 00 and apparently had it as a taxi. He never looked after it and eventually after a few years the 1.4 engine packed in. So he sold it on and the new owner fixed her up a treat lol

It all adds up really. I'm the cars third owner :D

taxed it for 3 months, have nct booked 24 of august so that'll be fun :p the nct is only out by 4 months on her..

i dont know if it qualifies as bangernomics if you bought it with no tax and test. just a banger.

nice to see your turnaround and enthusiasm though, the car looks well and a mk1 focus is generally a nice car.
