Hi folks, just wondering can anyone give me any advice or tip offs on good deals(Dub/Wick) on a bike I plan to purchase (BTW scheme) in the next week. Will spend 750 yoyo.

Im not a hardcore cyclist & dont plan to be. I will cycling country roads with fairly crap surfaces & of course potholes the size of bathtubs. May cycle on forest tracks. Hope to put a kiddie carrier on the back if possible.

    Any advice welcome

    Thanks a mill.;)

Does anyone know much about Scott bikes? I was looking at one in a shop the other day but don't know much about the brand. Went in to look at a Felt F75 but they were really pushing the Scott

OP I'm prety much the same as you, I'm not interested in racing or full on Mountain Biking but wanted to have a bike that I could use just to get fit, maybe 10-15km a couple of times a week and take some rough and tumble every now and again.
I got one of these a few weeks back for €600 after a good haggle.

I'm know some people are against Hybrids but I cannot fault the bike. It's fast on the road and has plenty of really low gears for hills, forestry roads and the like. I've had it on a few light trails and it holds up fine. The disc brakes are great for wet conditions. The front suspension softens the bumps and locks out for the road.

You should have a look at one just to get an idea. I spent ages trawling the internet beforehand and had my choice narrowed to 3 or 4 bikes but it wasn't until I went into the shop and saw the bike and had a good feel of it and a chat with the lad in there that I could properly make up my mind.

Let us know what you pick :)
