luxair cooker hood

A couple of days ago, I pushed the button for the light on my 4 month old luxair cooker hood and one of the bulbs blew. The second bulb didn't turn on and neither would the extractor. I checked the most obvious thing (mcb board) but none of my switches were tripped. I thought that it might be some sort of safety feature that it wouldn't work with out the second bulb but this doesn't seem to be the case either. I didn't get any documentation with the hood so I have no instructions or anything like that and the company website has absolutely no information. I am planning on going back to the shop that I bought the hood in but I want to make sure that I have tried everything first (don't want to look really stupid :o) Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the problem?

most likely thing to have happened is the 4 amp fuse in the plugtop has blown due to the short circuit in the bulb
