Can anyone recommend a garage here in Perth to buy a car?

Looking to spend $3500 max - low mileage (under 20000) and air con a must

Thanks in advance for any advice

not sure about perth but in Sydney you'd be lucky to get a car with less than 100,000 for $3,500 :)

Under 20k would suggest a new-ish car. You aren't going to get one for $3,500

    Hi Foundry,
Bought a car here in Perth in March. We had a budget of 2k, which got us a 2000 toyota with 300,000km on it.

We went to lots of of the big dealerships, and they don't seem to stock much under 6k. They send all their cars to the small dealers, so you just have to search here and see if you get lucky. They are Cleaned not fully serviced in the small dealers, as far as we saw.

The small dealers will get batches of cars from the big dealer so some dealers will be packed, and others will have only a few cars left (which will be the rubbish ones). Ask the dealer if he has another batch coming in soon.

One place to look is Victoria park which has about 8 of these small dealers all in a row, so you just walk from one to another.

Search for a manual car, because you will be able to bargain, because Ozzzies dont want them.

We met a couple of people who were selling cars on gumtree, but when we met them the cars had something major wrong with them, so we gave up on this was tooo time consuming.

You do not want to have to got to the Pitts (like the nct) with the car, to avoid this ensure car you are buying has WA REGO, and that it has not bee Yellow sticker-ed. Make sure the paperwork is done properly as well or you could end up with the last owners speeding fines.

You could try http://www.cheapycarrentals.com.au/html/services.html, until you get a car.

You will find Irish people advertising on Irish Around Perth Facebook page.
A word of warning though, in the couple of months i have been here, i have heard 3 Irish lads boasting how they sold "heaps of sh*t" to other Irish. May be just tall tales...............
    Good luck with it
