Does your car spec it? Mine definitely doesnt, but I used it anyway to avail of the higher boiling points. Seems fine, though Ive heard of others reporting problems with 5.1.

Not progressive. Seems to fade fast.

Same in a gsxr6. A hyundai coupe. Renault trafic. Nissan navara.

And its not a bleeding issue

Is DOT 5.1 not designed for race/ high performance cars. 1 race only?

Are you thinking of DOT 5? DOT 5.1 is the glycol fluid standard with the highest wet and dry boiling points.

It's not "race" fluid is it?

Nope. Just says 5.1 high performance brake and clutch fluid

I was under the impression that DOT5 is not compatible with ABS equipped cars?

That's right, it's too thick. But we're talking about DOT 5.1.

    :o Just re-read it now!

Surely there is not need to go above DOT 4 on a road car though?

Hmm. DOT 5.1 does absorb moisture good-oh and is quite thin. Maybe it just doesn't suit your yokes in this climate?

There isn't. But "need" has nothing to do with it. Aside from the Need For Speed.

Changed it out for castrol dot 4. Both van and bike are much better. Halfords fluid must be muck
