Gamboa just said on twitter he wants this fight at 130. I think Gamboa wins a UD here. Hope it happens though!

I would make Garcia a big favorite at 130lbs Johner

Garcia struggled with a contract 126lbs last fight - he's grown into a 130lb fighter. I think Gamboa suffers loss by KO in the mid rounds

But excellent match-making and perfect stylistic clash up !

Superb style match-up, Gamboa's unpredictable and often brilliant offence vs. Mikey's classically trained and methodical counter-punching. Hope it happens.

Great fight if true. Although Gamboa looked quite big in his last fight and that was at lightweight.

Mikey will win IMO. Good bring him into the top 10 p4p a win this big.

I think Gamboa's rapid fire speed and power will be too much for Garcia. Gamboa also has a very neat defence when needed. He has excellent feet. He's a super talent.

Gamboa looked quite sluggish against Darley Perez though and his power wasnt that impressive then?
Mikeys power is arguably better IMO. Its a very close fight.

On a different note I'm almost sure I read Garcia was due to fight WBO SFW champion Roman Martinez in September. Another Puerto Rican vs Mexican bout. So doubt this fight happens yet?

    Great matchup.

I'm a big admirer of Garcia and (as Henno said) his classical schooling and technique.

While I really enjoy watching Gamboa box, I've been of the opinion for quite a while that he's a spectacular KO waiting to happen, because despite his dazzling speed and offense, he really does get caught far too often with counters and when you have someone as precise and as hard-punching as Garcia waiting for these regular lapses, it doesn't bode well for the Cuban's chances.

Gamboa is good enough to win by KO himself, as we're still unsure of how Garcia will react when caught cleanly by a big puncher. However, I still think Gamboa will walk into a big one somewhere along the way, though he could well be ahead on points at the time.

    Hope this fight actually happens.

Saw a discussion on another forum about this match-up today. Rumours of a plan to move Mikey up after the Rocky Martinez fight and make it happen. Mikey looks to have put a lot of muscle on lately which suggests his featherweight days are done. Given that there's not a whole lot at 130 to match him with the Gamboa fight could well be the best option. Would be a hell of a fight to put on a PPV card. We can only hope.
