'Next signing day: N/A' -- implies what...?

The slip of paper that comes with the Jobseeker's Allowance: at the bottom it usually gives the next signing date...

On the slip I received today, it says: "Next Signing Day: N/A"

    -- i.e. 'Not Applicable'.

Does anyone know what that might indicate?

    i.e.: Why's it say that?

Does it suggest the Social Welfare Department are discontinuing my benefit?

    Or something else...?

(I didn't miss my last signing date.)

    Thanks.

This was also on my docket. Today was my signing day. When I went to sign there was a notice up stating the next signing day, so I wouldn't worry about it

    hi,

the last time I signed on in may - they told me that there will be no more signing on - they will send out letters to random people and you will probably have to go for a meeting or interview or something - they weren't very clear about it but they said that signing on is not something that they are doing anymore!

I also found this strange, as i'm sure that on my last signing day, when I got paid in post office and checked my docket, that date was was down as the next signing day.

They are changing the signing days in some offices.

What happens is you dont actually sign on monthly. You sign on randomly whenever they text you.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Long overdue. Its part of a project prob to catch those who are working and signing on should be rolled out to disability benefit also along with other areas. Its prob been done because of cost some local offices are renting halls and such for signing on monthly.

Same thing here when I collected my JSA yesterday - says N/A for 'next signing day' - thought it was very strange...I'm due to sign on again Tues 9th July. Gonna query it with them just to clarify.

You're informed of your next signing on day by text only. Signing days are no longer on the dockets you get when receiving your payment. Nothing to worry about, and you're reminded the day before, again by text.

Same as - last time they asked for my number was about 4 years ago, I've had two or three numbers since then! And since I've already signed this month, I won't be back in the SWO until next Month when I am due to sign! Have a piece of paper they sent out to me with my dates written on it so I guess I'll follow that unless they cut me off!

Perhaps your signing office hasn't yet implemented electronic signing. In Cork and Dublin they certainly have. I was asked for my moby and photo ID. Once they've captured that, then Welfare inform you of your next signing date via text only. Reminders are sent via text the day before.

My office has not implemented electronic signing, I still sign the card.
I rang SW and mentioned to them about my mobile number after seeing this thread and was asked "sure what would we need your mobile for, we have your address!"

It's being rolled out AFAIK. When it reaches your area, then I'm sure Welfare will let you know!
