Posted this in Chat, should have posted here.
Sister hit the car this morning reversing out, the black trim and pushed up blue trim is an easy fix, but what would you do about the bumper? What kind of costs? Thanks.

Fit a new bumper is the only proper option - that crack can't really be fixed invisibly and while it can be welded it would be as cheap to fit a new bumper. I'd like to see the line where the bumper meets the wheel arch for a better idea of the damage.

That's unfortunate, especially on a car that is so well kept :o

I reckon it could be plastic welded pretty easily, but then I'd get the whole bumper painted. Should be able to pick up a new piece of trim from BMW..
The other option, is to try pick up a 2nd hand bumper in good nick and repaint it

    Thanks guys.

Got the bumper off there at 6pm to keep the labour down.

I pressed the crack together again, it's not the worst.

No other damage to the bumper or attachment points.

I was looking at a plastic repair kit recently which a lot of bodyshops are using - its not like a traditional plastic welding kit, rather its almost like a staple which is heated up by the gun - you push it into the plastic, it melts its way into the plastic and forms an extremely strong bond. The staples come in different shapes and sizes to suit different requirements.

Thats a long way of saying that crack looks repairable to me!
