Does Tax Relief for Medical Costs inlcude GP Costs

    Hi All,
    In previous years whenever I claimed my tax credits for Medical Expenses I was always excluding the 40-50 euro charge for GP visits.
    Should I still be doing this?
    Previously I only claimed for Medicines etc.

    GP fees are allowable. If you have not included them you can go back to 2009 and claim for them from 2009 on.

    hi Cormac. You can also claim for all your GP visits. I have done so for years, and always get a refund. Vey handy when we have a bad year health-wise!

    You claim for GP expenses like everything else. Just remember anything you claim for has to have a receipt in case its ever looked for. And you can only claim expenses not already reimbursed by a health insurer.
