Can someone shed some light on this please.
Friend of mine has just finished a one year diploma and attained a 2:1 with a qca of 3.33

Academic handbook states that where a candidate is within 0.10 of attaining the next award then they will be considered for such,

3.4 qca is a 1:1 first class honours so pretty close, just wondering if people think its worth the effort and if so how to go about it? All I can see is info on single module rechecks..

Under Student Records did they check the section "overall degree award"?

This will tell them what they were actually given, if they appeal it they should get it.

It's at the department's discretion whether they use the .10 band or not, s/he should contact their course leader and find out if it could be applied. If it can't, they should contact their lecturers and view their scripts, see if there's any potential for an upgrade in grades that might push them over 3.40.
