Parents have complained that children from Griffeen Valley Educate Together School in Dublin were seriously bullied by classmates on a trip to a Gaelteacht in Co Donegal. They have claimed that their children were handcuffed before being punched and kicked by other pupils during a visit to the Annagary Irish-speaking area.

Which news source is this story coming from, and what point would you like to make about it?

My point is this is disgraceful, the parents had to stage a sit in to get the BOM and principal to actually do anything.

    Those poor children :(

I think the school should be allowed time to deal with the problem and having a local TD getting involved is crazy - there must be a real lack of communication between the parents and the school if the parents went running to a newspaper before the issue was resolved.

Very well said aisher! A bit of common sense is needed here. We must also remember that children will add a lot of "colour" to their stories especially if they know that they have good listeners for them! And no, I'm not saying these events didn't happen either.

Eh, this video clip is from the U.S. not the Gaeltacht. You can't say (without evidence) that the incident in the Gaeltacht was as bad as that portrayed on that clip.

There's no way in hell I'm reading 350+ posts from a thread on that forum. Can you not post your own opinions here instead of dropping links and disappearing again?
