Help me configure minecraft for my daughter

hello, i have been trying to apply a mod to minecraft for a while now and i am not sure how to do it. basically the mod say to extract certain files to the mod and to the config folder..the problem is i do not have any of these folders. i was told in a youtube video to download minecraft forge to enable these but i tried that and the folders are not there. i belieive it told me to run setup.ch in minecraft forge when i extracted it to the minecraft.jar folder but that gave me an error. is there a simple way of getting the config and mod folders without using the forge thing?

Hey, sorry, I missed your update.

You need to create the config folder yourself. If you haven't run Forge before the folder will not exist. What error exactly are you getting when extracting the files to minecraft.jar?

right so when i open up minecraft.jar in winrar i just create a config and mod folder and then extract the files from minecraft comes alive and put them in the config and mods folder. i will try that tonight. I find a lot of the stuff in minecraft is not explained very well at all. the little one gets very annoyed with me when i say i will fix it and then cant.

Well the plan in Minecraft for the future is better mod support, so that you can load a mod from the menu. But I agree, it's a complete mess for the most part.

right so i opened up minecraft. jar and created a config and a mods folder and then dragged the contents of MCA into it and restarted it and it didnt work. any other ideas?

Does the mod there include Forge? If not, you need to download Forge and follow the instructions also.

Don't forget to delete the META-INF file in the jar.
