Growing Hair

My hair seems to be stuck at the same length for a while now - just above bra length. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on products to use on it, tablets to take, or how often I should get it cut?
Haven't got it cut now for nearly 3 months, was wondering if I should leave it a little longer.

I am taking the perfectil tablets, but don't know if they are making much difference...

    Thanks

How long are you taking the Perfectil? It takes a couple of months to start 'working' and won't necessarily boost growth, but will improve condition which obviously helps!
If you colour your hair or use heat stylers a lot you'll need to trim it more often, maybe every 5 or 6 weeks to get rid of split ends etc, but otherwise every 3 or 4 months should be fine, even longer if you're very good to it.

    greentea,

I have been having serious problems with thinning hair for some years now, have tried tricologic from vitabiotics. Have noticed that my hair is growing faster. Also see new caffeine shampoo being advertised quite a lot to stimulate growth. May all help you, but wish my hair was bra length!

I've been putting coconut oil in my hair twice a week (I only wash my hair twice a week) since January and have stopped blow drying, straightening or curling my hair except for the odd time and my hair has been growing quite quickly and is in fantastic condition! Best its been in years so I'd really recommend giving that a go. I also take a regular multivitamin, much cheaper than perfectil and pretty much does the same job and you could take a cod liver oil capsule with it and that would really help your hair, nails and skin too.

Brill thanks for the advice guys. Been taking perfectil on and off for around 2 months I'd say, so maybe keep taking them for another while. got a good deal on a pack of 3 so no harm at all.

Abrean, were do you get the coconut oil out off? Is it messy? Might give that a go then as well.

You'll get the coconut oil in any health food shop, it comes in a jar, it's solid. I just tie my hair up in a ponytail, take out a lump rub it in my hands to warm it to liquefy it and then put it in my ponytail and repeat until I'm happy all the hair in my ponytail is covered. Then I would always leave it in at least an hour or the odd time if I'm able to I'll leave it in overnight. It's the best conditioner I've ever had, my hair never has knots now! It's brilliant!

Coconut oil didn't work for me although I do love it for all sorts of things.
I do use it in my hair prior to dying it though and I dye it with the oil still in my hair and it protects it.

My hair was the same length for ages and Leonor Greyl Palme oil is what I believe eventually got it to grow longer. I got mine from Amazon although they don't appear to have it at the moment, it is expensive but lasts for a long time.

Rosemary oil (massage it into your scalp/use a brush). Really works wonders for growing hair.

Yes getting it trimmed regularly really helps as it minimises split ends and also makes it look neater. The things you're already doing will help, although limiting the heated styling to once or twice a week would help too! Make sure your diet is good, plenty of protein will encourage healthy growth. It'll still take around a year for your hair to grow 6-8 inches though, sadly there's nothing you can do to speed it up!
