I've just spent an hour reading through old threads, and I'm still none the wiser. Need to get rear parking sensors fitted to a 2001 BMW 5 series, and the installer I'd like to use (Dave Robinson) hasn't been answering the phone for months. I need a very good job, don't mind paying for it but don't want to feel that i'm being taken for a ride. I'm just off the phone to ICE in Ranelagh and was unimpressed with their attitude. Can anyone recommend a good installer who'll do the job right first time? Thanks!

Anan1 do you already have the parking sensors ? and if so are they spurious ones or orginal ones for your E39 ?

The E39 has 4 rear sensors.
2 colour coded into the centre of the bumper and 2 black ones embeddled into the rub strip.

Are you gona mirror the OEM set up?

It's my GF's father's car - I haven't bought anything, i'm looking for someone to supply and fit. OEM - look would be good, but the main priority is for the system to work well and be reliable.

I'll give them a call. Have you experience of their work?

body repair, and scuff repair yes, parking sensors no.

In fairness the parking sensors can be done by a monkey, ive fitted them to transits and cars before, but for a place like carcraft or anywhere similar that would be doing them daily, and be experienced in bumper removal etc, it should be bread and butter stuff.

could also try Pro-Parts in Coolmine, Dublin 15.

They've done a good few for me on various cars and I've always been happy with the work. If you didn't know what the factory sensors look like, you'd struggle to tell the difference.

Will sit slightly proud of the bumper unlike the oem ones, but only slightly. About to book them to do a 2012 Passat next week.

Only thing to make sure is that you get Paul to fit them.
