Free to air satellite losing channels?

So have a free to air satellite for about two years. Lost a few channels a few months back mainly music channels actually.

But now all channels are gone! (says no signal) I don't believe the satellite has moved position as it worked fine with really strong winds during winter.

It is a "philex" satellite receiver box, could it be that its just a dodgy receiver?

    Thanks

Are you referring to magic? As I know this like removed its name or something but it is still broadcasting. This may have happened to a few others aswell.

In general the satellite is kept in position by signals from the ground. The same cannot be said for your dish. The Philex is not particularly dodgy. Try it on someone else's dish or try someone else's receiver on your dish.

on a slightly different issue i have been using an old sky decoder watching the free to air stuff , i decided to buy the triax satellite and terrestrial decoder and its telling me that i dont have any signal quallity (signal strenght is about 80%) why would it work for the sky box but not the triax box ? the reason i decided to change is to get the HD stuff from the UK . Its quite a bit of a run from the dish to the decoder but this hasnt been an issue for the skybox . any advice would be appreciated . thanks.

obviously if this is covered in any other thread sorry for wasting yer time..

Have you tried retuning your sat receiver?? as lot of the channels you mentioned have move frequency in the past. Its always worth rescanning from time to time to pick up channels that have moved and new channels that have been added.
