10K budget.... help me out.

    OK instead of me picking out cars and then asking are they any good Im just gonna put it to ye and see what you lot suggest.

    We have a 10K budget at the very max.... but would much much rather keep it closer to 8K.

    The car is for the wife. And in a couple of years the kids are going to be applying for licences etc so they'll be looking to drive it too until they pass their tests. Oh and something that would be handy on juice and tax would be a huge plus.

    Any recommendations? So far she seems to like golfs and probably wouldnt say to no a focus either. Just not sure which models (zetec mk1 mk2 etc) we should be looking out for :confused:
