    Hello

I am trying to locate GP's and psychiatrists that believe Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue are real conditions. A rheumatologist would be useful too.

I am looking for experts in the dublin/midlands areas, but any location is fine if the doctor is worth the trip.

I am having a hard time finding this information alone and I would be very grateful for any pointers.

Apologies if this is a frequent type post but I did try a search first. PM me if prefer to keep the info private.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,

I got sick in October 2010 and spent 6 months seeing different GP's to try and find out what was wrong with me. To be told things like I would be better in a couple of weeks or I was depressed and needed to 'go out and party with my friends' when I couldn't even walk up the stairs to go to the bathroom. Anyway after six months I demanded the the name of a private physician as I could not take anymore and was incredibly frustrated that no one could even tell me what was wrong with me or take me seriously.

Anyway I was told to contact Dr. Mary Ryan - Private Physician and Endocrinologist (she is at Barringtons in Limerick and I think another hospital in Kilkenny. http://www.drmaryryan.ie/. She was the first Dr. to tell me what was wrong with me actually help my symptons and guide me on what I needed to (diet, pacing and lifestyle changes) do to manage my illness. She apart from being a great doctor is a lovely lady and was the first doctor to take me seriously.

Unfortunately I am still stuggling with my illness but have definately improved. Though as you probably no there are ups and downs with this illness but that is just the nature of it.

Anyway I hope this helps I know how difficult, frustrating and isolating this illness can be.

    Best Wishes
