There's nothing more frustrating than buying big money for fertiliser and finding plenty of bags with lumps in them. Anyone ever complain to merchant?

My spreader doesn't have a sieve and I notice a lot of new half tonne ones don't either.

    Complain.

We got a pallet of Can last year from Connacht Gold and the bottom layer of bags were all lumpy. They replaced them gladly and told us that they had several complaints about the same manufacturer's fertilizer last year and had a lot of returns to them.

i believe the merchant is liable in instances where lumps coming from big bag fert crack the hopper, i had a few ton of can that i feel must have been old stock, fecking annoying its was lumpy and sticky, had to be careful when cutting the big bags in case a big block dropped out

    very very annoying.

we got palstic in ours this year, kept blcoking the sprout. had another laod a few years ago that was full of tie wrap.

as for the hard ones neighbour made sihte of this hopper a few year back. 1 massive lump in the bag, it tore open the bottom of the bag as he was trying to empty it, landed in the hopper and smashed it. The lump was so big it didnt fully break up so it called the rep to come out to see it. merchanrts bought him a new spreader.

fierce annoyed about a bag of 18-16-12 i had the misfortune to try and spread last week. bottom foot of bag was seriously wet and i circumvented it by opening the bag on the side higher up.... bad decision! could not get the stuff to flow out at all and it bugged up the spreader outlets. will be complaining.... not so much for a refund but more to let them know that they gave me bad product.

If not wet just lumpy. Bang bang the big bags on the ground a couple of times and the lumps will break up.
