Tips for getting very thick fringe??

I have finally discovered the look that suit me - a very thick fringe that covers my entire forehead.

I have a high forehead and when I comb my hair in such a way the entire forehead is covered (no bits of forehead showing) it looks great. The problem is the slightest bit of wind or exercise ruins it by splitting the fringe into different segments!

So what can I do? Didn't want to ask the local barber because the question is a bit girly and they usually have customers at the same time waiting :o
