Getting a baby out of your Bed.

Our 14 month was sleeping in his own cot until about two months ago. a trip away (of a week) moved him out of kilter. Now he falls asleep with one of us lying in a single bed. He used to do that before and we would transfer him to a cot but the trip means he now insists on sleeping with u. He does sleep in the single bed for 2-3 hours before waking up but then he wont go to a cot but insists on our bed.

. When He wakes we move him to our bed. The problem is he moves so much during the night its hard to sleep.
I also think its bad to have a baby in the bed.

Can anyone suggest a program for moving him back to his cot??

Maybe try moving cot right beside your bed with no gap. Put side down so you can hold his hand etc... Perhaps after a few nights you could move cot further away, then eventually lose the hand holding etc..

Could you leave him on the bed? We did that with our daughter around the same age. We put one side against the wall and safety rails on the other

Might look into this but the Cot is a big piece of furniture. Might not fit in our room. But might try opening it in his room as thats where he falls asleep on single bed.
