Your images don't seem to work.[now they do...]
It works for me with http://www.pendrivelinux.com/yumi-multiboot-usb-creator/

From what I see there it is failing to start X, the graphical interface of the os. You might be better to post this in the Unix forum as it is Unix/Linux specific.
When you downloaded the image did you also download and check the MD5 or SHA1 checksum? If you didn't you may have a corrupted image. It happens during download sometimes, and that is why a checksum is always provided to make sure your completed download is not corrupted.

thanks for the help, i will give that a go.
also what version should i use 32 or 64bit?

If your computer has a 64 bit processor then either, otherwise 32 bit.

thanks yoyo. i have checked the md5 sum and it is correct. i reflashed the usb with yumi and booted.
i still get the same problem even in safe mode. is it something to do with my computer.

Try writing the image to usb with UNetbootin. If you already have a linux distro running, try writing it with USB Image Writer, usually included on Ubuntu or Mint.
Other than that I am not sure.

hi just tried the UNetbootin program and still the same issue. could it be my computer?

You could burn the ISO to DVD, if that works, it isnt your PC.
Which boot option are you using? I always use the text boot, then use startx.

You could try the new version, Kali.

You could also try another USB stick, is the first one a good brand?

I normally use the default mode, but when i tried the text mode i get the error in the image below.
Ill give kali a go! the stick is brand new and check disk finds nothing.
Burning the dvd as we type.
