Ok so ive broke my wire that connects my External Harddrive to my Laptop, is there anyway for me to retrieve the files without buying a new case or using a desktop.
As in use my laptop to load the harddrive without windows installed on it

You could boot from a live cd,
eg mint linux 7, fits on 1 cdr.
Then swap the drive with the internal, laptop drive,
if THE drive is 2.4inch sata .
CAN you not buy a new usb cable, its maybe 3 euro.
IS the drive cable removable ,does it use a usb interface on both ends.?
or get an old pc free ,on adverts,ie free ,
    or jumbletown.ie
be careful, when handling both drives ,
Do not touch the pcb, board underneath the drive .

If the drive inside is a 2.5" SATA, you could boot off CD or USB with a Live ISO image, and the hdd inside the laptop, then copy files off it to a stick

Would it not make more sense to buy a cheap USB cable if that is the 'wire' you broke?

The container was only 8euros and it was the connection to the container that was broke not the wire itself

So you bought a new container (enclosure) to replace the broken one? You now have a good enclosure and a working usb cable - so what's the problem here? Am I missing something?

That's funny, given your spelling and punctuation.

SO the old cable is broken, open old drive case ,remove hd,
place drive in the new case ,drive enclosure.

Connect new case with a usb cable.
Unless the cable is soldered to the hardrive,
I can,t see the problem here.
    I presume drive is sata 2.5inch .
