hey folks. im selling my car for cash to a local dealership..im just wondering what the procedure is regarding the vehicle registration cert. i downloaded a tranfer of ownership form (vehicle owner to a dealer) from citizens information, which has a section for both owner and dealer to fill out..but what do i do with the reg cert..do i hand it over to the dealer? or do i put the dealers details on that aswell and then post both forms to shannon?

I can't help you with your query unfortunately, but I have a question myself.
Are you trading in this car for something else, or are there dealers which intent to buy cars for cash?

The dealer will have that form anyway but there's no harm bringing your own. You will hand the reg cert to the dealer and he will have the new owner sign it. If you signed the reg cert to the dealer it would mean there is an extra owner on the car

Some dealers particularly the bigger ones can transfer ownership online. They have a specific code number assigned to them by Shannon so that they don't show up as an additional owner when they sell it on.

As above, a lot of dealers will be able to do the transfer online. You just need to give them the log book as they will need the serial number of the log book when subsequently transferring the ownership to the new owner when selling the car.

Dealers will buy cars for cash, but only ones that they can flip quickly, and only at a price that's attractive to them.
