afternoon all, i'll be climbing carrauntoohil in 3 weeks time with a few friends and were planning on getting a guide to bring us up. we want to maximise our chances of reaching the top in case of bad weather and figure that having a guide would only be beneficial regardless.

has anyone done this guided and if so can you recommend someone for me please? thanks

thanks for the replies, i thought i'd contacted outdoors ireland previously but it seems i was wrong. i'd been hoping that our group of 5 could do this as a private guided hike but any responses i've had so far suggest we'd be joining a larger group.

I have done a good few guided walks in Ireland with

Ronan, the guy who runs this is really really good and can accommodate private groups.

As mickeroo says, Outdoors Ireland is the one. NathanKingerlee posts here so you can send him a message directly and he'll take you through it. Plus he does a lot more, so if you get the bug and decide to come back on a mountain skills trip, or fancy rock climbing, you can go back to him.
