    Hi all
Have a 97 2.8 pajero with a possible cracked head, runs fine for about 20 mins driving then when at idle starts burning coolant, has been using coolant for a while before this.
Where would be best place to get parts?
    cheers

Common for head to crack . but could also just be a blown head gasket

New cylinder head ,not sure on postage!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mitsubishi-cylinder-head-2-8-Shogun-Pajero-Canter-4m40T-/281112954750?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4173a3477e#ht_2235wt_1313

had exaqctly the same problem on my 96 2.8 paj, major headache.

from what i've been told, it usually starts out after a service as they can be easy to get airlocks in the coolant system if not done right.

before you know it, your temp shoots up until you lose all power and notice that your accelerator doesn't do anything when you press it down (usually after a fast journey, when you've stopped at a junction or lights and you've lost the added cooling effects of fast moving air rushing over the radiator).

but by that time the heat has caused minor cracks in the head and from there on in, its only going to get worse.

i replaced the head in mine (cost about €500 all in, inc. fitting) and it was okay for about a year after that, but then the problem started re-occurring and it's either cracks in the new head now or in the block itself. either way it's fooked.

i still have it sitting on the drive here, but i've bought a newer paj now so it's just a case of getting rid of the thing at this stage. :(

good luck with it anyway, i really miss mine (hence not having gotten rid of it yet!), by far my favourite motor. the new one (a 2007 current model) is awesome, but it's just not the same. :)
