Windows 8 Desktop icon " Disappeared "

Hi, Somehow or other I have made the Desktop icon " Disappear " from the Start page....... If I click on All Apps, it's there but I do not know how to bring it back. On the Start page, it has been replaced by the Internet Explorer icon..... All suggestions welcome, Thanks Jay

Hi,
