    Hi
Dar.m1984. I am also planning on getting married in Italy in June 2014. We have contacted Michelle in Heffernans in Cork and Andrea in Curragh Travel both based in Ireland. We have contacted a lot of foreign based wedding planners who are charging €1,200 and €1,700 just for help with the paper work part. And €350 plus just to book a venue. I am still doing research nothing planned or booked. Could you please let me know who you are using and how are you getting on with them. What are the fees like. Heffernans in Cork are quoting me €500 which is their fee to book things, you pay for everything then separately. I couldnt pay almost €2,000 for work I could do myself on the internet. I could easily go over myself for 4 days and go around o suppliers and still not spend €2,000. Any feedback or advise on how you are getting on with choosing a planner would be helpful.

Get a wedding planner to book the church and do the paperwork only.

Use the Internet to book everything else.

My friend used topflight and they put her in touch with a local sorrento/positano planner but she booked the flowers, restaurant and stuff herself.

I considered using planners in Nerja in Spain and there's 3 of them there locally as well known and do 100s of Irish weddings per year.

You can use them for church only or everything. With them they get you discounts which basically makes up for their fees in the end.

I gave up on the idea in the end because getting married in Spain was more expensive than here when the per head cost is taken into account.
