DELL vostro PSU problem

I've a DELL 200 Vostro SFF (slim) with a start up issue. I need to press the power button for 5+ seconds then release the power button then press again to start the PC. If I turn the PC off for a few minutes it's starts OK but when I leave it off for a few hours I need to do the 5 seconds 'warm up' routine to get the PC going. All lights behave normally including the amber one on the motherboard.

I assume I have a PSU problem and from reading online the SFF vostros use a standard 250W FTX power supply. I cannot find any FTX PSUs in Ireland anyone know a seller ? At a pinch I'd take a used unit as I am in short on time.

    Thanks for any help.

May not be psu, I had "similar warm" up issues, after swapping out the psu the problem persisted. Turned out to be a faulty stick of ram.
Do you have 2 sticks in the machine? Take one out, restart, see what happens. (swap it to the other bay too)
that said it could very well be your psu, any orange lights on the front power switch?
    Or your motherboard
give the ram swap a go first though

    Hey Mopi,
Had a similar issue to you & had some job finding a replacement psu but I did eventually find one. So if you do need one here is a link to where I purchased mine. Hope you get it sorted :)

A faulty capacitor on a motherboard could cause these symptoms also. It may be worth giving all capacitors on the board a quick once over to see if they are raised at all before you go buying a psu.
