Molar build-ups and grinding

    Hello,

As part of my orthodontic treatment I have molar build-ups (blue material) on some molars (it changes where exactly throughout the treatment).

Now I believe I'm grinding/clenching my teeth at night sometimes where the build-ups are. Does this wear down the build-ups (something I don't care, of course) or can such clenching where there are build-ups wear down the opposing molar (that doesn't have build-up) as well? Are the build-ups made from a material which is softer than enamel?

    Thanks for any info.
