Searching for a new primer

    Hi!
I'm running out of my current primers, which are a combination of the gosh velvet touch primer and the no.7 mattifying base and would like to try something new.
I like the combination I am currently using, but it doesn't do as good a job as I am hoping for.
I have oily-ish skin and quite large pores. I also have some acne scaring and redness.
I want a primer than combat/minimise the above, whilst also providing a smooth canvas for my makeup and helping it to last all day.
    Any suggestions?
Willing to spend about €30 max.

I really like the smashbox primer! Think it's about €30. Its fantastic, your make up just glides on over it!

I too use Smashbox's Photo Finish.
Not sure how expensive it is but it last forever, you only need a little bit.
I have combination skin - dry cheeks and forehead, but bad acne on the lower half of my face.

I find it makes my foundation last as I don't need as much.

I have heard good things about those primers.
However, there is so many in the range that I always get confused as to which one would be best for me.
Should I go for the original or one of the colour correcting ones or..?

I find the Boots 17 primer every bit as good as Smashbox, and it's a fraction of the price!

Benefit is good. Liquid one suit for your skin mine similar oily combo skin so i find benefit liquid primer good has pearl in the name there are two one has pinky peach other is pink, shiner for at night bit sparkle in it or high beam good too.

Whats up one is ok it shiney but not great for oily skin unless you have dry patches was 35 euro i think. Think the others were 28 euro not certain.

Loads of other brands have primers. Trial and error to find right one if different.

I cannot fault garnier perfect blur as a primer. It's about €20. I've used benefit and Laura mercier in the past and garnier beats them both hands down for me :)

I've been using the No.17 primer that was mentioned here earlier and find it really good. I also really liked Bare Minerals Primetime but found I had to use more of it than with the No.17 one and it is alot more expensive.

I'm confused as to wether you both are referring to the boots no.7 brand or the number 17 brand that boots stocks?

Sorry this is the one I'm talking about, have always seen 17 as being a boots own brand make up line for some reason.

This.....it is the most amazing thing I have ever used. And it seems to be lasting me forever. You really only need to use the tiniest amount!

I agree about Smashbox and 17 primers. I had samples of both and they work just the same.

I started using Catrice's Prime and Fine recently and it's fantastic for the price. Lovely smooth texture that really evens out my skin tone.

Used a random one I found in Superdrug before that which was also brilliant. Think it was callled Fashionista Mattifying Primer.
