Self employed and working for a company

    Hi, I'd like to find out is it possible to be self employed and be an employee in a different company? How the tax matters look like in that situation.

    Answers like " get your accountant to sort it out" or "google it" are boring and pointless..

    Yes, it is possible to be self employed and have a PAYE job.

    No one here will work out your tax for you. For that you need to talk to an accountant.

    There is nothing unusual about having paye and non-paye income at all, rental/investment/fees or other income types including from your own enterprise. The annual tax return form has boxes for these income streams!

    There is plenty of advice on the Revenue.ie site as to what you need to do, it is not rocket science and Revenue help lines are very helpful indeed if you have queries. If you are not comfortable to do it for yourself, go to a taxation specialist or an accountant.

    you need to register for self assessed income tax - TR1 form

    Each year you need to submit a form 11 tax return to reflect your sole trader accounts , employee P60 and any other income , your tax credits etc and submit to revenue.

    Roughly looking at €350-€500 to get accounts and tax submitted for part time sole trader
