Was chatting with a lad today who last year on foot of soil samples dropped P&K and felt he didn't get the return from N alone. Mentioned as well that another farmer observed the same thing.

Anyone else experience this? Like most others need to get as much silage as possible for this winter so I'm considering 1bag of 10:10:20 on top of the 3 bags of SulphaCAN that have gone out already for the second cut.

Im in index 4 as well put out 2 and half bags of 19 0 15 for second cut yesterday plus got 3k gals of slurry last week. Will top up with 30 units of can in a fortnight. Grass needs a bit extra this year all the rain washed all nutrients well down.

I suspect a HEAP of K and S was lost last year because of the relentless rain and a dip in these would hurt silage quite a bit.

Both are water soluble and loosely held in the soil iirc.
