bathroom tiles - a good idea to have the same tile on wall and floor?

Its a small bathroom so we want to maximise the feeling of space. We're going with a beige wall tile and debating if we do same on floor, or go for a slightly darker colour on floor. Any advice?

I have travertine wall to floor, did 2 bathrooms, looks better than different tiles I think.

I personally think going the same colour works better in a smaller space We did up our ensuite last year and went beige tones on floor and walls and it definitely makes in look bigger. A lot of tile shops have floor tiles to match wall tiles so they are at least a different shape to add a bit of interest.

Be careful when buying tiles for floor as they may not be suitable, as in non-slip and therefore can be lethal!

I have beige travertine in my main bath on the floor and wall and i absolutely LOVE it, i had to seal it after they went down but 3 years later and they're still perfect.

In my ensuite i did put a "wall" tile on the floor in the same colour, and i also am very happy with this. It's a small area and i knew i'd have bath bats down i wouldn't be walking with wet feet on it so it's fine but just bear in mind...

Also, a little tip when tiling in a bathroom (or anywhere for that matter)...don't use white grout...it's not worth the heartache!

Same here......same tile on the wall and floor.

Decided to break it up a little with a mosaic pattern border through the walls and around the window of the main bathroom. We installed a chrome tile trim around the recesses of the window,so that this tied in with the chrome towel rain and rad.

Did the same in the ensuite, but we recessed a large beveled mirror into the wall (flush with wall tiles) and then did a mosaic border/frame around the mirror.

As another poster said....try to use a darker colour grout in the bathroom.

    Regards.:)
