    Hi all
i'm editing up some on-bike footage of some highly recommended cycling routes in Kerry over the summer. Excuse some shaky footage here and there but scorsese didn't have to shoot footage with zone 3-4 heart rate.....

heres the Conor Pass dingle peninsula loop starting and finishing in Castlemaine ( or pretty much Tralee )

My absolute favourite part of the world. Don't get down nearly often enough. Thanks for the vids. Keep 'em coming.

Know these roads like the back of my hand. That smooth section of road near Inch beach is only about 1.3km long unfortunately.

@endacl. Will do. I'll be posting some of my favourite routes up over the coming weeks / season.
@rob. Yea its too short but with the usual strong prevailing wind we hammered it from dingle to Inch and back home.

Fantastic videos OP! Makes me very homesick - bicycle is the only way to take in such amazing scenery.

I wonder, have you noticed car drivers becoming 'more aware' with regards to passing you on the road? The last time I ventured onto the Tralee - Dingle road, back in 2009, 8 out of 10 drivers were blasting past within inches of me - I turned back at Derrymore my nerves were that shot. Would be great to hear it is better environment for cyclists there now...

Funny you should mention ,that I normally cycle in Dublin and Wicklow ,however
I'm just back from some cycling in Kerry and I found the motorists complete dangerous ars3holes , almost like going back 20 years ago in Dublin, plus the added danger of rental car drivers, but the locals were aggressive drivers.

I have to put my hand up that i used to be aggressive towards cyclist on the road. But since i took up cycling i now know what it's like to be on the receiving end of a close pass.
My g/f thinks it's safer to cycle side by side on the road so the traffic behind would have to wait till there's no on coming to make a "clean pass" so to speak. But i think that would pissed off the traffic behind even more.
I think 99% of motorist do give the cyclist a wide berth when passing. So i personally think it's pretty safe to cycle on Kerry's road. :D

    Thanks for compliments on vids.
Yea some motorists leave it tight alright.
I'm aiming to show some quieter routes aswell that have that bit of escape to them. The ballaghasheen climb video for 70% of the 90+k relatively empty roads..... happy days.

Anybody cycle on the Lyracrumpane road over to Castleisland? Some big climbs up there and the surface looks surprisingly good.

Not cycled that route to castleisland yet. But will take on suggested routes here and video them over summer.
New video taking in Ballaghbema Gap will be up soon.
