    Anytime i open network and sharing centre on the pc it says local area connection speed is 100mbps when my bband is 7mb or so why?

    Because the (local) network connection between your PC and the modem/router is 100Mbit/s, that's why. Your PC doesn't know, and doesn't care, how fast the connection is between the modem and the Internet.

    That is the speed that has either been set on the LAN interface on your PC or the speed that it has autonegotiated between the PC and the router.
