We had a 409 a little bigger, couldn't get the end of her. My neighbour has a 407 brilliant never have any bother.
One thing to check is the pivot point as they are prone to wuick wear if not greased regularly. They only brake on front axel be sure to check. No idea if its value or not

Hey delaval, was thinking of buying something between 406-409. How old were the ones you had? Was the 409 telemaster or just normal loader?

If I remember our 409 was bought new in 93/94. Telemaster is a must as they'll have no reach without it

Clark transmission and perkins engine. Was well able to handle 2 tonne pallets. We didn't sell for mechanical reasons size was the reason in the end, the workload was a bit much. With the small wheels they tend to be slow in the road.

Check the wear on the centre pivot. They appear on done deal occasionally. If buying go for JCB we have had manitou and they are lego in comparison

You're up early for Mass!! How would like for traveling into a field with a bale in oct? Slow isn't an issue as wouldn't have far to travel. It would be well able so for big shear grab. Looked a 406 recently, tidy machine low hours but thought it was bit light. Would the 407 lift the 2 ton pallets.

    Thanks for the info

Sorry it was a 409 we had and she never failed in any job she had to do. We had no bother with 2 tonne and would often bring 2 t of fert to the spreader in the field. It will lift all you need to lift but if you want to push up silage etc not fit for that unless it was a trailed outfit on a long draw

Up early cause I'm on my own and have two herds to milk. One down. Just had coffee and heading to milk hour and a half and that's me till 3.30 again
